At Woodland Park, we understand the Gospel as “God’s Story…Your Story.”  We see the Gospel not as one small part of the Bible, but as a message of hope set forth throughout all of the Bible– the true story of God’s interaction with humanity throughout all history.  In the Bible, we see how each and every passage relates in one way or another to the overall story of the Gospel.

“God’s Story” is so important, that Jesus Christ called upon his earliest followers to share it with the whole world, as recorded in Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV):

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'”

We believe the call of Jesus to “make disciples of all nations” did not end with those early followers, but that it extends to Christians today also.  And so, we seek not only to share “God’s Story” with others, but how it relates to “Our Story” as well, on a personal level.
